This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you use Cerlut, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
When you use Cerlut, we collect the following:
Account information. Your name, phone number, business name, and any other details you share with us when you sign up or message Cerlut.
Messages and content. When you send a message to Cerlut, we receive and process the content of that message. This includes text, voice recordings, images, and any other media you send.
Team and task information. Information you share with Cerlut about the people on your team, the tasks you assign to them, and the work they complete. This may include their names, phone numbers, and details of work done.
Usage information. Basic technical information about how you use Cerlut, including timestamps, message delivery status, and error logs. We use this to keep the service running and to improve it.
We do not collect financial information, government identification, or sensitive personal data unless you explicitly share it with us.
How we use what we collect
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To deliver the Cerlut service to you, including processing your instructions, assigning tasks to your team members, and sending you summaries
- To understand and respond to your requests
- To improve Cerlut's accuracy and reliability over time
- To communicate with you about your account or about Cerlut updates
- To comply with our legal obligations
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you are an active Cerlut user.
Voice recordings are processed in real time and are not retained long-term beyond what is necessary to generate the task and the summary.
Text messages, task assignments, team information, and summaries are retained while you are an active Cerlut user, so that we can provide you with historical records and reports.
If you stop using Cerlut and request deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or compliance reasons such as tax records or fraud prevention.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share your data only with the following categories of recipients:
Service providers. We use trusted third-party services to run Cerlut, including cloud infrastructure, communication, and processing services. These providers operate under strict data processing agreements that require them to handle your data securely and only for the purpose of delivering the service to you. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
WhatsApp and Meta Platforms. Because Cerlut operates through the WhatsApp Business Platform, your messages pass through Meta's infrastructure. Meta's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.
Legal authorities. If we are required by Indian law or court order, we will disclose data to the relevant authority.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction. You can ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure. You can ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to grievance redressal. You can file a complaint with us about how your data is being handled.
- Right to withdraw consent. You can withdraw your consent for us to process your data at any time, after which we will stop processing it. Withdrawing consent may end your access to Cerlut.

Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data using industry-standard security practices, including encrypted storage, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk wherever possible.
Children
Cerlut is built for business owners and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you through Cerlut or by email. The effective date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent version.
